These are actual extracts from those wanting to get 'rid' of their Guinea Pigs

Most of the reasons we hear, for those abandoning their piggies, are that they do not have time and / or the child caretaker has lost interest.

Reason for adoption: The kids have outgrown them

Additional Information:
You know how kids are. I have a daughter 11 going on 15 going to middle school this year getting into boys, to much home work, etc. I keep telling her to look after the guinea pigs and the battle is getting to much. We've done the guinea pig thing and so little fluffy has to go.

Reason for Adoption: They need more attention than I can give.

Additional Information:
These piggies have been together a year or so now. I just don't have the time to spend with them that they should get. I want them to go to a good responsible home. They need someone who can hold them more and possibly have an area to run too.

Reason for Adoption: family w/children unable to maintain

Additional Information:
This piggy is very frightened of people. He was purchased by my son for his child but as we all know in the rescuer world that it wasn't a good idea, but I feel partially responsible. I live in Illinois but the adoption would be in North Las Vegas. I think a loving family or rescue would be able to turn Napoleon around. I pray that someone will be able to help!

Reason for Adoption: I'm going to college in the fall

Additional Information:
Bindi is a very sweet, affectionate female guinea pig. I am very fond of her, but I am leaving for college in the fall, and there isn't anyone left to care for Bindi. I need to find a home for her where she will get lots of love and attention. She has lived with a female guinea pig before, and they got along VERY well together. Bindi has no health problems, and loves to be lavished with attention.

Reason for Adoption: moving, can't have pet,

Additional Information:
This little guy is very friendly, sweet and active... although he's still quiet. He squeaks for carrots, his favorite food, and purrs when he's happy. He loves music and is used to being in an environment with a lot of noise (began his life in a 1st grade classroom). I don't want to give him up, but I am moving - and may be moving again very soon because of my job, which requires a lot of travel... so I really need to find a loving home for this great little guy

Reason for Adoption: no room or time

Reason for Adoption: I got a new job and do not have the time they need for me to spend with them.

Additional Information:
I have two female Guinea Pigs that I would like to stay together. One of the girls is a calico and the other is black and brown. The calico is the dominant female. They only squeak when they know it is time for a treat or dinner. They are both beautiful and sweet! The reason that I am having to give them up is because I don't have the time they need from a parent. I started a new job and it takes most of my time. The girls are suffering for more attention. With the girls you will get their cage, food bowl, waterer, igloo, and supplies (food, bedding) I have with them.

Reason for Adoption: grew too big

Additional Information:
they are good with dogs and cats; can go together or separate

Reason for Adoption: youth owner lacks time for pet

Additional Information:
The Squirminator is a real cutie. He loves lettuce and baby carrots. He enjoys the outdoors on warm sunny days. He needs a loving home and more individual attention than he receives. Squirmy has lived with us since he was 5 weeks old.

Think first. Do not  get any animal unless you are willing to give them a lifetime of care.
